I'm getting an incompatible version error on the Swimmingly app during the huddle, what do I do?

You have devices from different Swimmingly versions (I.e. 8.x.x and 9.x.x) and they won't work together, update all devices

I am in the middle of "the huddle" before my swim meet, and am receiving an error message of 'incompatible version'

Solution

Update the devices (most likely the Scorekeeper's iPad) that are out of date

 


Scenario 1: ALL devices attempting to huddle with the Scorekeeper are seeing this message

This means your Scorekeeper is on an incompatible version. Close the app on this device, connect to any internet connection, and download the latest version of Swimmingly.

As a best practice, have all devices attempting to huddle confirm that they see the current version (9.x.x) prior to attempting to huddle:


Scenario 2: SOME devices huddle successfully by SOME attempting to huddle with the Scorekeeper are seeing this message

This means SOME devices are on an incompatible version (probably last year's version). Close the app on those devices, connect to any internet connection, and download the latest version of Swimmingly.
