How to Reorder Sections and Use Global Blocks
Ensuring your website has a cohesive structure requires properly organizing sections and utilizing global blocks effectively. Follow these steps to add essential elements, rearrange content, and maintain a consistent layout across your site.
Step 1: Adding Global Blocks (Header & Footer)
If a page does not include a standard header or footer, you can add them using global blocks:
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Add a New Block.”
- Navigate to the “Global Blocks” tab instead of manually creating a new block.
- Select the Header block to insert it onto the page.
- If the header appears at the bottom, rearrange it by clicking “Drag to Reorder” and moving it to the top of the page.
- Repeat the process to add the Footer block if needed.
Step 2: Creating Custom Sections
If you need to add a new section to highlight important content:
- Click “Add a New Block” and choose Create Your Own.
- Insert a Basic Text Box or other content elements.
- Customize the section:
- Adjust text size and color for better visibility.
- Use the Text Toolbar for font settings.
- Modify the Section Toolbar (right-hand side) to change the background color or adjust width settings.
Step 3: Reordering Sections for Better Layout
To maintain a logical flow of content:
- Click “Drag to Reorder.”
- Move the newly added section to its correct position on the page.
- Ensure the final order aligns with your intended layout:
- Main Navigation (Header)
- Custom Sections (as needed)
- Page Content
- Footer (if applicable)
By following these steps, you can effectively use global blocks and adjust section order to create a well-structured and professional-looking website. Adjust colors, fonts, and layouts as needed to align with your branding!
